Design

The design process started with initial sketches and conceptual blueprints, where our team of 12 designers explored a wide range of product ideas. After extensive brainstorming, we converged on a collection of lighting pieces inspired by organic forms in nature and sustainable design principles. We created prototypes of light structures using origami paper, tissue, glue, and other simple office supplies.

Production

My lighting addition, the Swirl, mimicked natural movement patterns. Its flowing form conveyed motion while maintaining a lightweight, sustainable structure shaped through origami-inspired prototyping.

After the completion of all light pieces, I personally led the team of designers in the construction of the exhibition. We blueprinted the exhibit space, the visitor's journey through the space, and we built the display furniture. We also programmed lightbulbs to complete the aesthetic of the exhibit experience.

Display

The Aura Exhibition was inspired by the Northern Lights. The space resembles the unique atmosphere through elegant positioning of nature-inspired lights and furniture across the gallery space. Aura was displayed throughout fall semester in Cornell University's DEA Gallery.
